Psalms - The Christians' Hymn Book of Praise and Prayers.
The Psalms are the hymn book of the Jewish and Christian Church and are love by all of Gods people. These poems were written to be sung in the worship of our God. That being so they are full of prayers, praise, adoration and thanksgiving for who God is, and what He has done. And as with all scripture we cannot but help seeing the Lord Jesus Christ in them. They are also more frequently quoted in thew New Testament than another Old Testament book except Isaiah. Of the 150 Psalms 100 are related to authors, 50 being anonymous. King David was the main writer, writing at least 73 of them Asaph wrote 12 and the Sons of Korah wrote 11, the rest being written by other men of God under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
