Joel - Genuine Repentance.
Joel name means "Jehovah or the LORD, He Is GOD". He was a prophet to the Southern kingdom of Judah, writing before they were taken away into exile in Babylon. His message from God was clear and passionately forcefully, because they had forgotten and forsaken God, by going their own sinful ways, God is holy, He's angry with their sins and will punish them, Judgement is coming in the form of drought and famine, and the locust speaks of the hordes of enemies that will invade the land. Joel calls for a genuine repentance, sorry for your sins, a turning away from sin, back to following God. For God is a loving merciful and gracious, so repent and be saved, Them God will restore you and bless you and overthrow your enemies. Joel speaks to you and me as well as to Judah. For "The Day of the Lord" speaks of a day of final Judgement, which is at hand so are you ready, have you genuinely repented and turn back to God, so are you trust in Christ alone for your salvation?
Joel 2;1-18, Genuine repentance, Joel, From Famine To Fullness D. Mountain, B. Bygroves.
