Habakkuk - From Fear to Faith.
Habakkuk the author a contemporary of Jeremiah. He is the prophet to the Kingdom of Judah. The prophet fears for the state of Judah, this prophecy is a complaint to God about his problem, that his own nation has become far from God, its wickedness is such they should be Judged and destroyed. The lord answer is that the Babylonians are his instrument of punishment. But that nation our even more wicked than his own. Habakkuk cannot understand, God tells him not to worry all sinners will be punished in due time. Meanwhile we are to live in faith and trusting in God, for our faith will be strengthen by affliction, Gods plan is certain and faith will be rewarded. The key Ch2:4 "The Just Shall Live By Faith" Also five woes are pronounced upon the sins of the people. and a vision of divine Judgement is seen with the final triumph of the faithful. We see that God cares for his people and in his providence is at work, God may seem to be acting slow, that because God in His love is a merciful and gracious God. God will destroy all His enemies the wicked. But God will never destroy his people he was correcting them, bringing them back to be a faithful people once more. God is Sovereign He is in control this life will be full of troubles. We are to run to God His people and His Word. God will keep his Children safe. Habakkuk whose name means "Embrace" reminds us to embrace Jesus Christ and have faith in Him alone.
