Deuteronomy is a very important book God Word, it is the second telling of the law, were it repeated and restated here, explaining and clarifying the laws of God. Moses reminds them that God chose them he loves them, so be loyal to God, and live for His Glory, tell of Gods greatness and obey all his commands. so don't forget all Gods has done for you. We also have Moses Farewell address His last words to Gods people before he dies, and Joshua take them into the promise land. Where He puts before them two ways of life, that of living in obedience to all God's word and being blessed by God. But the alternative if they live in disobedience to Gods laws Gods word, they will be punished. He Warning the Kings and leaders that they must know and keep Gods laws. In the rest of the Old Testament, it quotes Deuteronomy 356 times, and in the New Testament it quotes this book 96 times. and it's found quoted in 17 Testament book. Moses is telling the parents of the importance of teaching the children to know and obey Gods laws. We are not to just live for ourselves. Teaching the dangers of neglecting Gods word, we all need to both know it and obey it.
