Doctor Luke was the author, the beloved physician, who was the close friend and travelling companion of of the apostle Paul. Luke's Gospel was written to Theophilus with Greek or Gentile Christians in mind. The purpose was to give historic orderly account of the life of Christ as seen by eye witnesses, that they should know Jesus Christ both Son of God, and Man. With emphasizes on Christ Humanity "Behold the Man" Also it emphasizes prayer, and has notes of Joy and praise, Christ grace and tenderness to women, honouring womanhood.
